After weeks of cleaning and repairing my flood-damaged home, things are finally starting to feel normal again. Freshly painted walls and varnished furniture have breathed life back into the house, though the emptiness still reminds me of what was lost. Last weekend, during Karthigai Deepam, I lit oil lamps inside and outside my home. The warm glow reflected off the clean walls, transforming the space. Despite the house being empty, it felt peaceful and beautiful—a sign that life is slowly rebuilding itself.
